Whitsunday Islands - Daydream Island

Daydream Island was awesome! The weather was phenomenal. The water pristine. It truly was an amazing experience. We started our trip on a 15 minute ferry ride to the island. The water was a brilliant turquoise colour.

These mermaids are separated from the island during high tide, but during low tide the kids were able to get up close and personal as evidenced by the following picture of Brooklyn
(the only PG rated picture that we could find).

There were so many things to do and see while we were on the island. A highlight was visiting Lovers Cove where we were able to snorkel right off of the beach.

This is the view from the top of Lovers Cove.

We spent a lot of time in the pool.

The other end of the island boasted many fun things to do. We were able to take pictures with these authentic, artificial, aboriginal statues.

John and Colin were able to play a mean game of chess.

We were able to enjoy the miniature golf course in all of its Aussie splendor.

We watched a movie on a huge outdoor screen and also watched wallabies hopping around.

The sunsets were spectacular.

And finally, a great part of traveling was sharing the experience with Grandma and Grandpa and Kim and Chris.

Beautiful pictures! How ironic that I am posting pictures of one of the biggest snowstorms in VA history today and you are posting pictures of y'all in swimsuits enjoying the summer. Miss you!

What a fantastic December. I can't believe how blue the water is. Too bad we don't live just a little closer :)

How fun! I love the picture of you & John in front of Lover's cave :). The man-sized chess game looks like a blast. Ryan is an avid chess player now & challenges John nightly to a game.
