Tassie - Day 1

We got up at 5 in the morning to make a 7 am flight. After we arrived, we headed to Freycinet National Park, only some of us slept on the way, but all of us wanted to.
We had been told that this is the place to visit in Tasmania...the water - amazing...the drive - spectacular. One of the prettiest places on the entire island. And, as you can see we had a good time. We enjoyed a short walk to a lighthouse that looked into Wineglass Bay and over the coastline.

We enjoyed the two hour bushwalk up to the Wine Glass Bay lookout, which included 1,200 steps (only a few of which Jared fell down). We enjoyed our time there, and the views were nice, but because of overcast conditions the water was grayish and unspectacular.

Now, the following picture is from the internet and is what Freycinet looks like on a clear day.
We did enjoy the bushwalk and the views, but wished we had held out for a clear day and had been able to see sights like the one above.

On the way back to Hobart, we stopped at Friends Beach. The water was unbelievably cold, but the surf was brilliant. We all enjoyed splashing in the water and posing for pictures. Jared simply enjoyed getting a lot dirtier.
