Our next stop was Mt. Cook National Park where we enjoyed the towering peaks above a glacier fed lake. The highlight was the suspension bridge where other walkers stopped along the trail to watch our children as they sprinted across the moving bridge.
The short
bushwalk was very memorable and not only for its name.
Within Hooker Valley there is the 40 mile long glacier fed Lake Pukaki. The unique turquoise color comes from the glacier flour.

Can you imagine my kids on that bridge? Brooklyn would have crawled across. Ella would have completely freaked out. The boys might have been brave enough. And your kids were running across. Ha!!
Wow, it is absolutely beautiful! By the way, I asked Scott about the BBQ place you mentioned and he has never heard of it. I will have to look into it and give it a try. I have been to Berryhill lots, but they just closed down in our town. :(
So hard to imagine you guys all bundled up with snow around you in July! Great pics as always!
Are you sure taking the kids to Hooker Valley was a good choice?? What an education you are having there ;-) It looks so cold there.
My mind was going where Melanie's went...
I'm glad that it wasn't just me. :)
